Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Fast Video Compressor collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information through fastvideocompressor.com, the desktop application, license activation APIs, support tools, and related services. The service is operated by Satya Vara Prasad, an individual (sole proprietor) based in India.

The desktop app processes your video files locally on your device. We do not upload, view, or store your video files on our servers as part of normal compression. Website, account, payment, license, analytics, and support data are handled as described below.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

  • Account data: name, email address, login/session details, password hash, verification codes, and account status.
  • Checkout and billing data: selected plan, billing country, currency, order IDs, payment references, invoice records, refund status, and related transaction metadata.
  • License and activation data: license key, license status, activation dates, app version, device or hardware identifier, entitlement source, and verification history.
  • Support data: contact form messages, support tickets, refund requests, feedback forms, chat messages, attachments you choose to send, and related email communications.
  • Technical and security data: IP address or processed IP value, user agent, request logs, error logs, fraud/abuse signals, and rate-limit records.
  • Analytics and cookie data: page views, referral source, browser/device details, approximate location signals, and interaction events when analytics or tags are enabled.

2. How We Use Information

  • Create and secure your account.
  • Process payments, issue invoices, deliver license keys, activate Pro access, and verify entitlements.
  • Provide support, investigate failed payments or activations, and respond to refund or billing requests.
  • Protect the website, app, APIs, licenses, and payment flow from fraud, abuse, piracy, spam, and unauthorized access.
  • Improve the website, product, checkout flow, support quality, and reliability.
  • Comply with tax, accounting, platform, legal, dispute, and chargeback obligations.

3. Payments and Store Purchases

Website payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not store your full card, UPI, net-banking, or wallet credentials. Razorpay may process payment details under its own terms and privacy notice.

Purchases made through the Microsoft Store, including in-app purchases or subscriptions, are processed by Microsoft. Microsoft may provide us entitlement status or purchase information needed to activate Pro features, but Microsoft controls its own billing and store account data.

4. Cookies, Analytics, and Tags

We may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for login, security, preferences, checkout, analytics, and site measurement. Google Tag Manager or Google Analytics may be used when enabled. You can limit cookies through your browser settings, but some account, checkout, or security features may not work correctly without them.

5. Legal Basis and Consent

We process personal information to provide the services you request, perform a purchase or license contract, protect our services from abuse, comply with legal obligations, and where required, based on your consent. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent by contacting us. Withdrawal may limit features that require the data, such as account access, license verification, support, or analytics.

6. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only as needed with service providers and platforms that help us operate the service, including payment processors, Microsoft Store, hosting and database providers, email providers, analytics providers, fraud and security tools, professional advisers, or authorities when required by law.

7. International Processing

Service providers may process or store information in countries other than your own. When this happens, we use reasonable measures intended to protect personal information according to applicable law and the provider contracts available to us.

8. Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy. Some records must be kept longer for tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, license verification, dispute, chargeback, backup, or legal reasons. If a license or purchase record is deleted, we may no longer be able to verify ownership or restore Pro access.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information, including access controls, secure transmission, hashed passwords, token-based sessions, and limited access for support and operations. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, update, delete, restrict, export, or object to processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent where applicable. You may also ask us to close your account or delete support/chat records that are not legally required for business, security, tax, or dispute reasons.

To make a privacy request, email support@fastvideocompressor.com from the same email address used for your account, purchase, chat, or support submission. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity and protect your account.

11. Children's Privacy

The services are not directed to children. You must be old enough to form a valid contract, or use the services only with involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for targeted advertising.

12. Data Breaches

If we become aware of a personal-data breach that requires notification, we will take reasonable steps to investigate, reduce harm, and notify affected users or authorities as required by applicable law.

13. Third-Party Links

Our website or app may link to third-party websites or platforms, such as Microsoft, Razorpay, or support resources. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy.

14. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated policy applies when posted with a revised "Last updated" date. Material changes may also be communicated through the website, app, or account email when appropriate.

15. Contact and Grievance Redressal

For privacy questions, data requests, complaints, or grievance redressal, email support@fastvideocompressor.com. You can also review our Terms & Conditions and Refund & Cancellation Policy.
